Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare came in first at the Japanese box office. The film distributed by Toho opened and made around $11 million after being shown on 348 screens. It’s premiere was also about 38% higher than the opening of the last film in the series Detective Conan: Sunflowers of the Inferno.
The newest installment of the Detective Conan franchise is the 20th movie in the series about a high school detective whose body is reverted back to a boy by a shadowy organization. The manga began in 1994 and is still running along with an anime adaption which is currently on its 25th season. The series is under the name Case Closed in its English releases.
