Kouji Wada’s website have announced that he has passed away last week on April 3rd due to upper pharynx cancer. He was known for his work in various anime openings including “Butter-Fly” from Digimon Adventures and “Honō no Overdrive ~Car Robot Cybertron” from the Japanese version of Transformers: Robots in Disguise. He would go on to do more songs for the Digimon series most recently, openings for the new Digimon Adventure Tri. His agency Solid Vox, will be having a special event in Tokyo to commemorate him called “Wada Kouji Owakare no Kai” or Kouji Wada Farewell Event. This tumor he had was initially found in 2003 and while he was able to receive treatment, he took a break from his career in 2011. He would return to his career two years later in 2013. Kouji Wada was 42.
