Ys 8 Dengeki

The latest issue of the Japanese, PlayStation centric magazine Dengeki PlayStation has revealed some new information on Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. It seems Adol’s going to be joined by a few companions. This includes his long time partner Dogi as well as sea captain named Barbaros, and a parrot by the name of Little Paro. In addition to the new characters, some new features were revealed as well. The player will be able to gather NPC’s who wash ashore and recruit them for their village. As the village grows the player will be able to explore new areas. There are a few other interesting tidbits published. The game’s subtitles loosely translates to “Day of Tears”, and that seems to be very meaningful to the games story. Also there is some downloadable content planned, including costumes and accessories, some of which may even be free.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will be released July 21 for the PlayStation Vita, and sometime in 2017 for the PlayStation 4 in Japan. No word yet on a North American localization, but we’ll keep you informed!
