It was quite the week for Nintendo-related rumors, but probably the biggest was the supposedly “leaked” NX controller. The high quality photo above circulated online and many believed that it was an authentic Nintendo NX controller. Its design is similar to a patent Nintendo registered last year, as well as another similar leaked image from a week prior. Things got a little less in focus, however, after the original leaker revealed that the controller was actually a doctored-photo. It should come as no surprise than that this new “leak” was also revealed as fake. The person responsible made a video detailing how he managed to make such a convincing replica of the original fake leak, with the help of a 3D printer and a lot of ingenuity.
All this just goes to show that, in the age of the internet, social media, and really dedicated fans, seeing isn’t always believing. Hopefully Nintendo will reveal the real NX system and controller soon, perhaps as a belated Easter present.
