Hyrule Warriors: Legends is stated to release next week, and it’s been revealed to have a Season Pass able to purchase on release day. The Season Pass is not exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS, as Wii U owners are also granted one. Additionally, purchasing either Season Pass gives you a Wind Waker Ganondorf costume to use that’s only from the bundle.

Not all of the DLC will be both for the Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS however, and the DLC will be set to release at different times as well. Here is a list of what’s to come.

Legends of Hyrule Pack Season Pass

The Legends of Hyrule Pack comes in three forms:

Nintendo 3DS Only Season Pass: DLC for Hyrule Warriors: Legends on Nintendo 3DS. Out on March 24, 2016.

Nintendo 3DS + Wii U Season Pass: DLC for Hyrule Warriors: Legends on Nintendo 3DS only and Hyrule Warriors on Wii U. Out on March 24, 2016.

Wii U Only Season Pass: DLC for Hyrule Warriors on Wii U. Out in Summer 2016.

Downloadable Content Packs

For Hyrule Warriors: Legends on Nintendo 3DS, four DLC Packs are set to release. They can be purchased on their own, or together at the same time in the Legends of Hyrule Season Pass.

Master Wind Waker Pack (DLC Pack 1)

Set to release in late Spring 2016

  • 16 new My Fairy costume pieces
  • The “Master” Wind Waker map for Adventure Mode with one adventure battle scenario

Link’s Awakening Pack (DLC Pack 2)

Set to release in Summer 2016

  • 16 new My Fairy costume pieces
  • A new map for Adventure Mode with two new challenge battle scenarios
  • A new playable character
  • A new weapon for Linkle

Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks Pack (DLC Pack 3)

Set to release in Fall 2016

  • 15 new My Fairy costume pieces
  • A new map for Adventure Mode with one new adventure battle and two new challenge battle scenarios
  • A new playable character
  • A new weapon for Toon Link

A Link Between Worlds Pack (DLC Pack 4)

Set to release in Winter 2016

  • 15 new My Fairy Costumes
  • A new map for Adventure Mode with one new adventure battle and two new challenge battle scenarios

The following DLC is available for Hyrule Warriors on Wii U. Like Hyrule Warriors: Legends on Nintendo 3DS, you can purchase the DLC either separately, or together at once in the Legends of Hyrule Pack Season Pass. Note that new copies of Hyrule Warriors: Legends will include a download code that will allow Hyrule Warriors owners to download Linkle, Skull Kid, Toon Link, Tetra, and King Daphnes for use with the following DLC packs as otherwise, the new weapon packs allow you to only play that character with that weapon. Additionally, the code for the new characters includes Ganondorf’s trident as a weapon, and if you download Hyrule Warriors: Legends via the Nintendo eShop, you will still be granted the new characters.

Link’s Awakening Pack (DLC Pack 2)

Set to release in Summer 2016.

  • A new playable character
  • A new weapon for Linkle

Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks Pack (DLC Pack 3)

Set to release in Fall 2016.

  • A new playable character
  • A new weapon for Toon Link

A Link Between Worlds Pack (DLC Pack 4)

  • Set to release in Winter 2016.
  • Two new playable characters
Finally, the character Medli from Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will be available to download for free on either Wii U, or Nintendo 3DS. Medli will be downloadable following the first DLC pack, Master Wind Waker Pack releases.

While some release dates and some details were not given, it is likely that they should revealed sometime soon following release of both Hyrule Warriors: Legends, and the DLC. Hyrule Warriors: Legends releases next week on March 25, 2016.

Wait, they were smart enough to allow Wii U owners to get all the same DLC as the 3DS, but the only way to get the actual new non-DLC characters from Legends onto the Wii U is still to buy the 3DS game? That’s messed up.

    • blackice85

There’s supposed to be a pack that just gets you those characters, same as if you have the code from buying the 3DS version, if I understand correctly. I don’t think it includes like the scenarios or anything like that however, which is what disappoints me the most. I’d rather play more of this on the Wii U, not on the 3DS.

    • Klagmar

Ah, you are right. I just checked the actual source like I should have done in the first place. Looks like the “upgrade” pack for the Wii U will be available for €11.99, so the total cost for that + the DLC is €21.99. That actually seems pretty reasonable to me.

    • blackice85

Yeah cost-wise it’s not bad, I just don’t like that the 3DS has exclusive content.
