Impulse! is coming to Steam on April 4th 2016. In a recent email we were told… “After a long wait, Impulse! is finally ready for launch. For fans of visual novels, Phoenix Wright and murder mysteries in general, I’m pleased to be able to show off our launch trailer! (Please note: voice acting not from final game)”
This one is a musical murder mystery visual novel that follows a band (Impulse!) through their first live show. A local musician is murdered and they decide to figure out who the murder was. From rock star to P.I in the blink of an eye I guess! Anyhow, check out the trailer below, some screen shots and a bit more about the game.
DESCRIPTION
Impulse! is an interactive (and really, interactive) visual novel, with an original rock soundtrack and full voice acting performed by a diverse cast here in Vancouver, BC.
Impulse! had had an extensive rebuild, and now features a brand new engine built in TyranoBuilder, over 2.5 hours of voice acting, and alternate endings.
This is a story that follows Chris and his band, Impulse! through their first ever live show. After a local musician is murdered, the band decide to step in to figure out who the murderer is. Gameplay will be familiar to fans of Phoenix Wright & Dangan Ronpa.
Full release is currently slated for April 4th for PC, Mac & Linux. Further platforms TBA.
Impulse! plays like any other visual novel, with three main interactive modes –
Debate – Work together with the band to get a clear motive for your suspectInvestigate – Investigate the crime scene for decisive evidence
Confrontation – A showdown with your suspect… can you get to the truth?
Select options in branching paths throughout the game to access special date scenes, and affect the game’s ending!
