Etrian Odyssey V: The End of the Long Myth has been given a release date of August 4th for Japan, but no there has been no mention for release dates for the West just yet. Some details have been revealed about the game such as how Yuji Himukai who has worked on character design for all the previous games will be returning. Also, it’s been said that the character customization options will allow for more to be done. A short teaser trailer was also brought out.
For the setting, the game will be set in a region called Arcadia, which contains four races that will There are the Arslan which are human, the elf like Lunaria, the beast-like Cerian, and the Brani which will be equivalent to dwarfs. So far only 10 classes have been announced which seem to be specific to certain races. Arslans can choose the Fencer, Dragoon, Cestus, and Reaper classes. The Lunaria can be Warlocks or Necromancers. Cerians pick the Hound and Warrior classes. The Brani have the Herbalist and Shaman classes. Adjustments will be made to icons on the bottom screen map. It was also mentioned that character classes will fulfill specific roles and will follow more similarly to the first game in the series as opposed to Etrian Odyssey III & IV.
At this time the game is about 60% complete.
