Fire Emblem Fates, after first being unveiled in a Nintendo Direct just over a year ago, is now available in North America. Both the Birthright and Conquest versions of the game, featuring their own story and perspective of the game’s events, can be bought separately, with the other version available as DLC at a discounted price. Nintendo has released a launch trailer for the game, which includes high marks from several gaming publications.
Fire Emblem has come a long was as a series, from its introduction in the west after the release of Super Smash Bros. Melee, to the potential last chance for the series after the hugely successful Fire Emblem Awakening. Despite some controversy for this title including the dual nature of its release, Corrin’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, and localization differences between the Japanese and North American versions, it nice that western fans can finally play this title. The game is still scheduled to release in Europe later this year.
