It wasn’t too long ago that I gave a crowdfunding spotlight to Quantum Suicide, the Kickstarter visual novel with the Danganronpa influences. If you don’t recall the story it’s about a crew aboard a spaceship that get trapped into playing a deadly game with an insane AI. With the success of this crowdfunding campaign, developers Cotton Candy Cyanide are reaching to the stars for new stretch goals. The most baffling but equally awesome new incentive is to have said killer AI as a romantic partner for the protagonist of the game. When I saw this, and this is no exaggeration, I laughed out loud. I’m not exactly sure how they’re going to work this coupling into the narrative but I’ve got to say that it’s really tempting to donate to try and hit that $50,000 AUD (roughly $35,750 USD) stretch goal.
Cotton Candy Cyanide have also announced a few other interesting tidbits to go along with the Kickstarter. A new prologue demo has been released that is longer than the one first included with the campaign. A PayPal option for payment has also been added for those who don’t have a credit card or unable to go through the crowdfunding method. The developers are also holding both a fan art and fan fiction contest to have more interaction with their backers. The winning story and picture will be featured in the game as a cool little bonus. Entrants only have to follow two rules: the fan submission must contain at least one Quantum Suicide character and must not depict any nudity.
To cap everything off the Kickstarter is going to feature a ‘7 Days of Add-Ons‘ for the final week of the campaign. Cotton Candy Cyanide explains what this means below:
So what should you expect? Its a surprise! But seriously, some make sense, some don’t really make sense and will have you question my sanity…but either way it should be a fun week of celebrations!
Each day I will send out an update listing the new Add-on! It will be available for the duration of the campaign with the last day only be available for the last day 🙂
Should be an interesting way to end everything off. Since the Kickstarter ends on February 29 at 2am this means that the ‘7 Days of Add-Ons’ should start on February 22nd. If you want to contribute you can do so here or in the PayPal link on the campaign page. Always be careful when backing these types of projects since nothing is ever guaranteed with crowdfunding but I have to admit that Quantum Suicide keeps on looking better and better the more they update.
