Kickstarted 3D platformer FreezeME is coming to Wii U, and a new trailer shows the upcoming version of the game in action. Originally released on PC last month, the Wii U version has been approved for release by Nintendo of America, the developer tweeted out. FreezeME takes inspiration from 3D platformers from past generations, combining huge open areas with different kinds of challenges in a variety of locations. The game supports the Gamepad and its touch screen, as well as the Wii Remote, along with a “mini co-op” mode that requires a bit of coordination. No release date has been given, but the developer said it would be announced soon.
FreezeME is just one of several crowdfunded 3D platformers that hope to bring back the majesty of the genre to an audience both new and old. With other games like A Hat in Time and Yooka-Laylee hoping to do the same, it looks like the future of the genre is just a little brighter.
