During the final video presentation for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U, Nintendo had one more character reveal before the end of the presentation. They revealed that Bayonetta, the main protagonist of the series of action games of the same name. She won the Smash Bros. Character Ballot in Europe and placed in the Top 5 for the US Character Ballot. Overall she placed No.1 worldwide for the poll.
Bayonetta is currently in development for the game and she’ll be available in February 2016. Both her outfits from the first and second game will be available to use in Super Smash Bros. There will also be an alternate color option which is modeled after Jeanne. You can check out the trailer for her reveal below.
Bayonetta will be able to use moves from her games such as her Wicked Weaves, Witch Time and her Bullet Arts. From what I’ve seen, she also has many ways in which she can recover from getting launched from a stage. When Bayonetta jumps, her butterfly wings appear, just like in her games.
Selected tracks from both Bayonetta 1 and 2 will also be available as Stage music. Falling face of the clock from the first scene in the first Bayonetta will be available as a stage along with Bayonetta. Bayonetta’s Final Smash was also showcased, which involves her hair changing into the shape of a dragon’s head and attacking her opponents. You can check out the trailer for her reveal as well as some screenshots below.
