Today, Sony Computer Entertainment announced that they would be releasing a limited edition PS Vita in Japan to commemorate the launch of Dragon Quest Builders on January 28, 2016. This edition, a PCH-2000 Series unit, is silver and will have Dragon Quest original graphics on the back in the form of the famous (and oftentimes frustrating) Metal Slime, a tougher version of the series’ mascot. There will also be a pre-installed Dragon Quest theme for fans to enjoy and appreciate. Also included in this beautiful collector’s box are a copy of Dragon Quest Builders, power adapter and AC cord, a system manual and nifty Liquid Metal Slime themed earphone jack. All in all, a pretty spiffy edition of the PS Vita that Dragon Quest aficionados are sure to want to get their hands on. Take a look at the images below to see just how awesome this release is going to be. I see I’ll be spending some money this January.
Dragon Quest Builders will be available on January 28, 2016 in Japan for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. This limited edition will also launch on that date but it’s likely that if you don’t pre-order it now, you will have a very hard time getting one when it hits the streets. The game hasn’t been confirmed for western release just yet, and it’s almost a certainty that this limited PS Vita won’t see the light of day outside of Japan so if you’re interested, jump on it now.
UPDATE: Sony’s Japanese online store is already sold out.
