Smash Bros. 4 Logo

Super Smash Bros

Late last night (or about 4 pm Japan time) Nintendo made some announcements via it’s Japanese Super Smash Bros Twitter feed. The tweets indicate that an update for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U is coming on July 31st that will bring Tournament mode, new replay posting features, as well as new costumes and stages. Thankfully our own Will Whitehurst went ahead and translated the posts regarding the new costumes and stages for us.

Additional stages: The additional stages here are two remakes of stages from the original Super Smash Bros., which are Peach’s Castle and Hyrule Castle. The price for both stages is ¥250 including tax (one version – either 3DS or Wii U)/¥350 including tax (both versions). (Releases 7/31)

Super Smash Bros

While no confirmation of a release for this update outside of Japan has been announced it seems highly likely that it will making it’s way to the rest of the world. How do you all feel about it though? Are you content that Chrom and King K. Rool were made into costumes instead of playable fighters? Will you be picking up the stages from the original Super Smash Bros. and hope to relive some past glory with the new characters?. Be sure to let us know in the comments below and of course of Facebook and Twitter and thanks once again to Will for the translations.
