Square Enix held a press event to announce that Dragon Quest XI is in development for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS. This will be the next chapter in the company’s RPG series following the 2012 release of Dragon Quest X.
There will be graphical differences between the console and handheld version, but their story will be the same. The 3DS version will utilize the two screens, with 3D art on the top half and 2D sprites on the bottom.
There is possibility that this game is also in development for the NX, but that is all Square Enix can say at this time. Possibly to not shed any secrets about Nintendo’s upcoming console out next year.
