Actual Sunlight is a heavy-handed, emotional visual novel about “love, depression and the corporation.” It was released on PC in April 2014 to critical acclaim, and now this dark tale is coming to the PlayStation Vita.
A post on the PlayStation Blog by the game’s developer Will O’Neill goes into detail about this new version. First, the game’s interface was adjusted to improve the clarity of the player’s interactions. Also, the text was made larger so that it would be easier to read on a portable device. He goes on to list some interesting tidbits about the game.
- Fully set in Toronto, Canada, with environments modeled after real-life places. And references galore!
- Was originally made in RPG Maker VX ACE, and now reconstructed in Unity 5!
- Perhaps the first game to be for 18+ players — not because of sex or violence, but because of being about regular, unhappy adult life!
Actual Sunlight will be released on the PlayStation Vita on August 11. Let us know in the comments if you plan on picking it up.
