Keiji Inafune’s been a busy man lately. In addition to putting the finishing touches on the long-in-development Mega-Man-sequel-in-all-but-name Mighty No. 9 (due out September 15, 2015 for, well, everything) and starting work on ReCore (announced at E3 this year) for Microsoft, Inafune’s studio Comcept has released a teaser trailer for a new project called RED ASH: Kiganjō Calcannon no Majo, which translates, roughly, into Red Ash: The Witch of Mechanical Armor Castle Calcannon. This is a collaboration with Japanese animators Studio 4°C (Steamboy, Berserk: Golden Age Arc, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox). Details have yet to emerge about RED ASH but Inafune’s promised more information will be made public at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California on Saturday of this coming weekend. There is some speculation that this is a spiritual successor to the ill fated Mega Man Legends 3, which was tragically cancelled despite being criminally close to release , but there nothing yet that substantiates this is this case. At any rate, you can all whet your appetites on the reveal trailer and these concept images until the big announcement at Anime Expo this weekend. From the images provided, the game looks to have a strong steampunk flavor and playful yet detailed art direction.
