Square Enix announced today in a press release that the 2007 update to their classic turn-based strategy RPG Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions is finally available for the Android market via the Google Play Store for the reasonable price of $13.99. This is a long time coming for Android owners, and even though the game has been available for other platforms for quite some time now, it’s timeless qualities have are such that it does a marvelous job remaining relevant in the fan base even after all these years.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions is a tale of warfare, betrayal and intrigue set against a backdrop of warring nations and political drama. It has a deep, richly textured plot with complex characters and fascinating relationships that could very well be the apex of any narrative in the Final Fantasy franchise. The gameplay gives hours upon hours of strategy bliss, with interesting combat mechanics and an engrossing menu driven leveling system that will having you working hard (and loving it) for the right mix of abilities for your party. The Android version takes advantage of touchscreen functionality to bring an already timeless video game even further into the modern era. It’s highly recommended you give this game a try if you love RPGs, strategy games or turn based fare and have never played it before.
