Koei Tecmo has posted a new video for their upcoming demon hunting game Toukiden: Kiwami for PS4 and PS Vita, an enhanced and retooled follow up to the previously released Toukiden: The Age of Demons. In the game, players assume the role of warriors fighting against a horde of demons that threaten to overrun the world. The new trailer shows exactly how cross-play between the PS4 and PS Vita will work.
From the video, it appears as though nothing is lost in terms of game performance and teams of demon hunters should have no problem coordinating assaults against the many enemies they will face. The hardware admirably shoulders the burden of four player cooperation, enemy AI, battle effects and the environments simultaneously.
The action-RPG genre is very popular in Japan — popularized largely due to the success of the Monster Hunter franchise — and has a dedicated core fan base throughout the rest of the world that just can’t get enough of this game style. Toukiden: The Age of Demons gave the genre a different look and feel, focusing on a fantasy variant of feudal Japan as its setting and with a strong focus on anime style character designs and aesthetics. Koei Tecmo has repeatedly proven they are capable of giving fans just what they want and it looks like they’re going to deliver a satisfying gaming experience once again.
Toukiden: Kiwami is scheduled for release in Europe on March 27th, 2015, and in North America on March 31st, 2015, for the PS4 and PS Vita.
