Super Smash Bros. Controllers

Accessory company PDP is about to make some new fans out of the Super Smash Bros. crowd with their upcoming themed controllers aimed squarely in their direction. Last year, they revealed plans to create Wired Fight Pad for Wii U with three variants themed around the colors of Nintendo mascots. Today, they have revealed four more designs as seen above. Despite how they may look, these aren’t GameCube controllers. They’re actually Wii Classic Controllers designed to look and feel like one.

Many a Super Smash Bros. fan swears by the GameCube controller when it comes to playing their favorite Nintendo characters’ — and then some — bash-a-thon. Nintendo has fulfilled that demand by releasing both a GameCube adapter for the Wii U and a Super Smash Bros. branded, full-on GameCube controller, but they have yet to fulfill the very specific need to display their fandom for their favorite character in Smash.

PDP has not divulged any kind of release window for these controllers. Amazon seems to have three of the previously announced variants (Mario, Yoshi, and Peach) down for October 30th. The four new variants is not on Amazon as of yet.

On a relative side note, where’s the love for Luigi, PDP?

Where does he find the time to write about them?
