Hardware Sales

3DS 35.702
PS Vita 16.427
Wii U 8.985
PS4 5.923
PS3 2.376
PSP 324
Xbox 360 177

That’s… uh… That’s quite the post-Bon Festival fall in the Media Create charts. For consoles, the Wii U took the most significant hit, falling down over 9,000 units from the previous week to tumble below 10,000 again. PS3 also took a big hit as well, seeing its sales cut in half. 3DS still holds the lead with over 50% of hardware sales attributed to it, but it’s not quite the same as last year when Animal Crossing: New Leaf had its incredible run.

Over on software, Yo-kai Watch 2 leads again, but saw its sales fall below 100,000 for the first time. 3 million by the end of the year, would look nice but may be too much to reach for this new IP. Meanwhile, its predecessor drops below 10,000 again as the game either has hit saturation or is watching everyone jump to its sequel.

The Last of Us Remastered | Media Create

For new games, we’ve got a number of western releases in The Last of Us Remastered for PS4 and Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition for PS4 and PS3. Each game has already released in the West.

The Vita also saw a number of new games this week. It’s top game was Bullet Girls from D3 Publisher. As the title suggests, this is a shooter featuring high school girls in a game that has been compared to paintball and Senran Kagura (certainly an interesting mix). It’s unclear if this game will be coming west, but it is possible. We’ll see.

The other Vita game is Chaos;Head Dual from 5pb. This is a Vita port of the original Chaos;Head visual novel that released in 2008. The game has also been released on PC, Xbox 360, PSP, iOS, Android, PSN, and PS3. No release is planned. There is a fan translation out there, but it’s probably not available for the Vita yet.

Hyrule Warriors | Media Create

For returning games, Hyrule Warriors remained in the Top 10 but dropped down to 15,000 units sold, moving its total sales to 84,232. Yoshi’s New Island goes above 150,000, with is about half of what Yoshi’s Island DS did in its first week. And Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson still remains in the Top 20, but probably is having trouble due to the higher price point.
