Well, we move to a new week of the Media Create charts and both the Wii U and Mario Kart 8 are holding steady. As a matter of fact, the Wii U actually received a slight increase from last week. Again, it’s still behind last year by almost 70,000, but it seems to finally be raising its base. This is the second week in a row without a release that the console increased. It’s not yet time to celebrate, but it’s getting close.
As for the rest of the consoles, everything pretty much held serve. The only console to have noticeable movement was the Vita, dropping about 5,000 units from last week. But it isn’t all bad news for the Vita. It has consistently shown itself as a top console, despite not having a bona fide system seller. In addition, the Vita is so far the only console to sell above its numbers from last year, moving 150,000 more units this year.
Moving on to software, Yo-kai Watch 2 continues to dominate the charts, securing the top spot for the fourth straight week. It didn’t quite make the 2 million mark, but it should hit it next week.
For the new games, we have a trio of 3DS games. There’s also a Special Edition of Child of Light on the Vita. It didn’t move much, but it did sneak into the Top 20.
Anyways, we start with HappinessCharge PreCure! Kawa-Run Collection. This is a game based on the anime HappinessCharge PreCure, which is the eleventh installment of the Pretty Cure magical girl franchise. I think it’s obvious given that anime games don’t really make it over, but I’ll say it anyways: this game isn’t coming over.
Next up is SoniPro from Imageepoch, the developers behind Luminous Arc, Arc Rise Fantasia, and even had a hand in Yoshi’s New Island (which placed 2nd again). Anyways, SoniPro stars Nitroplus mascot Super Sonico as the player tries to train her into becoming an idol. This game has no Western release planned and probably won’t have one.
Finally, he have Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya from Kadodawa Games. This is a card game/action-adventure game that is based off the manga and anime of the same name, which itself is a spin-off of the Fate/stay night visual novel. We probably will not see this one in the west either.
