Well! It seems that my prediction about an imminent Sheik trailer was a bit more spot-on than I expected. Hot off the heels of the gameplay trailer for the Goron Darunia, Koei Tecmo has released another; this time showing off the slick moves of the Sheikah warrior who assisted Link in Ocarina of Time. Have a look below:
As predicted in our list of most wanted Hyrule Warriors characters, Sheik wields a single knife with a variety of acrobatic maneuvers for most of his standard attacks. However, what I didn’t anticipate was Sheik’s use of the harp that taught Link many of the songs that helped him travel through Ocarina of Time. Playing these songs in Hyrule Warriors, though, seems to be much more damaging than in the original game, with a variety of effects attached to them. For example, the Nocturne of Shadow seems to temporarily immobilize enemies who get caught in its area of effect, while the Bolero of Fire appears to be something of a time bomb attack, with a delayed reaction that explodes shortly after being activated. Sheik looks to be a highly versatile character for a variety of situations.
With that, we now have gameplay trailers for all the playable characters so far revealed in Hyrule Warriors. So, what next? It is my hope that, rather than news for the upcoming hack ‘n’ slash title coming down to a trickle, this signifies a new round of characters soon to be revealed. Either way, September 26 (September 19 for Europe) can’t come soon enough!
