Square-Enix has announced Dragon Quest X will be released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan. This marks the fifth supported platform for the series’ first MMORPG, following the Wii, Wii U, PC, and mobile devices. The game will run on 3DS through cloud streaming, similar to the mobile version of the game, in order to match the Wii U and PC incarnations. The touch screen on the 3DS will also apparently be utilized to add the extra buttons found on the Wii U GamePad.
Dragon Quest X will cost 1500 yen, and will come with a 60-day free trial code, a poster, a trading card, and several in-game items including a “Lemon Slime Board Prism” vehicle for your character, 5 “Great EXP Archives” for 1000 experience points each, and a “Casino Coin Ticket.” The game is set to launch September 14, 2014 in Japan. Similar to the other versions of Dragon Quest X, no international release has been announced.
