Halfway There $20,000 and Under Goal Reached

$20,000 and Under

Agoraphobia

  • Goal: $20,000
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS

From the Kickstarter page:

It’s a Zombie survival adventure video game, a form of interactive media whereby the owner participates in the events of the text and possibly affects the outcome.

Here are some of the things you can expect:

Darkness – Events have trapped the player in a building with the power failing. As time goes on, the environments will become darker and darker. The player starts with only a flashlight and their wits to face the dangers ahead…

Zombies – The creatures passively search the building for anything tasty to eat. The design of the enemies has them move in randomly selected paths, so each playthrough of each level will feel different and the player will never be certain what lays at the end of any dark corridor.

Music – The score will add to the feeling of uncertainty and insecurity in the level. The music for any given moment is dynamically chosen to match the action on screen.

Audio Rally Racing

  • Goal: $19,688
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, iOS

From the Indiegogo page:

In brief, our intent is to develop AUDIO RALLY RACING, a true, “mainstream audio game”, as first component and part of the “Audio Game Collection #1”:

  • Designed with mainstream logic in mind, not just “another audio game”:
    • Full of features and content, not just a single level.
    • Professionally designed and developed, we are no amateurs.
    • Can be played over and over, with the same longevity as the traditional video games of similar genre and size.
  • Designed with a true potential market in mind:
    • We are proud of what we do, and our unique approach to gaming, but our motivation is not purely ethical.
    • We don’t make “special” video games for the “unfortunate” visually impaired. To us they are users, just like any other user. The only difference is that these video games are accessible and completely playable for them.
    • Audio games are a relatively small market niche, but good news is it’s still almost uncovered.
  • Strong social value. Visual impaired are not the #1 target for the video game developers. If you are visually impaired and happen to like to play video games, you have very few titles to choose from. We want to change that.
  • Adults are our target audience: for example, our main character could be a bad guy, just like the main character in a movie or else.

Note: This is a flexible funding campaign. This project will receive the money that is donated towards it, even if it doesn’t reach its goal.

Broeder: Secrets of Ohr | LAST CALL FOR FUNDING

Broeder: The Secrets of Ohr

  • Goal: $7,777
  • Platforms: Windows

From the Kickstarter page:

To summarize it in one sentence, “Broeder: Secrets of Ohr” strives to examine the struggle of mankind to find one’s place in an ever-changing world while defining what he can do vs what he should do.

First, in a secondary theme, I’ve come to realize that there is a sort of “Frankenstein” quality to it in terms of technology–examining what man can do, and what man should do. Broeder exists in a world similar to one seen in the 1920s-40s in terms of culture and technology. In the early years, technology seemed to have no limits. It was a source of wonder and growth, sparking the imaginations of mankind throughout the world. Yet, by the 1940s, a darker side of technology rose its head. For all the wonders and cures technology could create, it brought about horrors and became tools for corruption–used not just by any one side, but by all of them. Originally, technology was created with good intentions: to alleviate the suffering of the world; to bring cures; to entertain; end wars with fewer causalities; and make life more comfortable. Yet, as in Frankenstein, technology became man’s monster–but only because mankind made it so. This, in many aspects, is the world that the characters have inherited.

Yet, while these events consistently help move the story forward in the background, the story is also one of mankind’s desire to find one’s place of belonging in an ever-changing world. Each character, for whatever reason, longs for something that they’ve lost; for something they hope they can regain but may never have. Yet, sometimes from the ruin of loss, greater bonds and ties can be made.

This is the second time through Kickstarter for Broeder. The developers have opted to break the game up into three parts, hoping that they can prove to the gaming community at large that the full game should be made.

Hard Rain

  • Goal: $5,555
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS

From the Kickstarter page:

The hard rain is falling. Your objective: to prevent the drops from overflowing the drain. Devise a strategy to manipulate the flow, then construct a defense by combining elements of the three types of components – FIELD, SOLID, and FORCE. As the waves of rain intensify in strength so must your defense.

Hard Rain has it’s own unique style of gameplay. While it doesn’t conform strictly to the conventions of any genre, it operates most like a physics puzzler in Classic Mode, where each quick level introduces new elements of the game through unique challenges. Longer levels in Classic Mode, and especially the Arcade Mode, take on more of a tower defense style of gameplay – i.e. developing a strategic defense and evolving it as levels increase. Arcade mode is endless, and is based on achieving a high score, which will be connected to online leaderboards.

Early access to the full beta will be available in July. The final release is scheduled for Fall 2014.

The demo is available through the Kickstarter page.

Loot Hero DX | LAST CALL FOR FUNDING

Loot Hero DX

  • Goal: $5,000
  • Platforms: Steam, PC

From the Kickstarter page:

Since the very first loot hero we have received huge support

But the fans have ask for more and for a long time we wanted to give it to them and now we are with Loot Hero DX.

Why are we raising funds

This is a two man company and we don’t have a big corporation or a publisher behind us. Everything we do has to be funded from our own pockets, but taking the time out to hire beta tester, paying artist for the music and buying the equipment needed is too expensive on a two man budget. That is why we need your support.

What will the funds be used for?

With funding will be able to have 10 new stages making it 15 in total. With all the new enemies and bosses for each new stage plus an awesome soundtrack. Music tracks for each level (unlike the original that only had one track) an increased quality control making the game better in every aspect compared to the original Loot Hero.

Reverie

  • Goal: $10,000
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, Linux, OUYA

From the Kickstarter page:

Reverie is an old school RPG with combo driven turn based combat.

Story

A strange boy with blue skin is found by a Huntsman in the woods near an ornate red door that seems to be connected to nothing. As the Huntsman picks up the child, an otherworldly man with a divine appearance emerges from the doorway. He tells the Huntsman a story of a terrible plague that has doomed his world and how the only hope to stop the destruction is his son, Edwin.

What is the meaning behind the strange red door and what can be done to stop the scourge from consuming the Universe?

Swipe Fight | LAST CALL FOR FUNDING

Swipe Fight

  • Goal: $2,200
  • Platforms: iOS, Android

From the Kickstarter page:

A single player / contiguous local multiplayer battle (with a focus on multiplayer) for both Android and iPad tablets designed and created by me, Zackary Gill. In this game players collect powerups to combat each other. Using a swiping motion with their finger a player throws powerups at the opposing player. The goal of the game is to cause the opposing player to lose all their lives. That goal can be accomplished by either draining all the opponent’s bases or by having certain powerups strike the opposing player’s finger.

A player throws a powerup by holding finger A on the desired powerup on the powerup bar, and using finger B they swipe to throw/use the powerup.

It is recommended that each player have ONLY 1 finger touching the field of play at a time and ONLY 1 other finger on the powerup bar. The game has been balanced according to these restrictions. However, the game does not actively enforce this so you can make up your own finger limit rule if you wish.

If your finger gets hit by a powerup you instantly lose a life. If a base completely degrades you will also lose a life.

LAST CALL FOR FUNDING: Xilli

Xilli

  • Goal: $2,500
  • Platform: Windows; Mac OS ($10,000 stretch goal)

From the Kickstarter page:

We created this game because we believe that language is the key to learning and communication. We want to put Xilli online so people can play cooperatively with others or competitively against others.

Additionally, we want to add in some really great features for players such as: options to play in multiple languages, an easy way to create custom and themed games, to set up custom online tournaments, to choose additional modes of play and much more!

I’ve always loved games of all kinds. I often made up games as a child. While raising ten children, there were many times I came up with games for us to play as a family. Some years ago, I had the idea for the game that is now called Xilli. My two oldest sons kept telling me I should put the game on Kickstarter because they really loved to play it and saw its potential. They came up with the theme for the game (safe-cracking) and changing the name to Xilli, as well as some other enhancements. My children are my true inspiration in life and the Xilli game is a result of wanting to create fun stuff for them.

A demo of the game is available on the Kickstarter page.
