So, where were the Media Create charts last week? Well, it was Golden Week in Japan. This is a time where a number of Japanese citizens take time off to celebrate holidays that happen in late April through the first few days of May. You can learn more about it here.

Anyways, hardware sales went up a bit with only the PS4 losing sales. Overall numbers went up about 10,000 units with the 3DS, PS3, and Wii U having the biggest gains.

Over on software, things were down, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at the Yo-kai Watch numbers. The game jumped nearly 50% in sales to take the top spot. However, the top new game this week, Mario Golf: World Tour, failed to make the 50,000 mark on its first attempt. The previous week’s number 1, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, dropped to number 3 with 32,512 units sold, a 78% difference from the previous week.

For other new games, we have the latest Touch Detective game coming to the 3DS. The game (with the title translated as Touch Detective Rising 3: Does Funghi Dream of Bananas) is the third in the series. The two previous games were released in the West, thanks to Atlus (for North America) and 505 Games (for Europe). No word on if this one will be localized.

Also releasing this week is Child of Light on PS4. It is unknown if this is a physical copy unique to the system of if this is a code for the game. Child of Light is available on a number of systems worldwide.

A number of games return to the Top 20: Fossil Fighters: Infinite Gear (15th place, 5,905 units sold), Animal Crossing: New Leaf (18th, 4,925), Super Mario 3D World (19th, 4,851), and Monster Hunter 4 (20th, 4,596).

Well, so much for that boost. All hardware is down. Overall numbers fell just over 15,000 units, with the 3DS, Vita, and PS4 taking the brunt of the fall.

Software sales fell as well. The Top 7 stays pretty much the same, with Mario Party: Island Tour, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call swapping places.

No new games this week. However, we do get the return of Mario Kart 7 (15th, 4,657), Puzzle & Dragons Z (16th, 4,585), Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind (18th, 3,757), Crayon Shin-Chan (19th, 3,681), and Grand Theft Auto V (20th, 3,507). We also see Yo-kai Watch pass 900,000 as it marches toward the million mark. And Fossil Fighters: Infinite Gear tops 150,000 as it inches closer to 200,000.
