New Persona Project | oprainfall

It’s been an exciting few months for fans of the Persona series. After months of teasers, developer Atlus announced not one, but four new titles for the long-running franchise back in November. First was Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, a direct sequel to the 2012 fighting title, Persona 4 Arena. Next was Persona Q, a dungeon-crawler that plays similarly to the Etrian Odyssey games. Then we were introduced to Persona: Dancing All Night, a rhythm game starring Persona 4’s Rise Kujikawa. Finally, there was the next main title to the series, Persona 5, planned for release in 2015.

Now, it seems that there’s even more cause for excitement. Atlus has announced that they will be hosting a (rather redundantly-titled) “Shadow Hour TV Persona Hour” live on Niconico. Airing on May 2 at 11:30 p.m. JST (7:30 a.m. PDT), the broadcast will serve a dual purpose. The beginning will feature a preview for the second Persona 3 movie, Midsummer Knight’s Dream, set for release on June 7. It will also feature a digest on the first installment of the Persona 3 movie, Spring of Birth. Probably the most exciting news, however, is that special guests will be giving out new information on the series as a whole, included an announcement for a brand new project that the company is working on. The broadcast can be viewed here come Friday.

Given that the announcement is for an indeterminate “project,” it is unclear what Atlus may announce. Could it be a Persona 4 Golden port? A Dancing All Night/Dance Dance Revolution crossover? Some kind of game show hosted by Teddie? A Persona-related theme park? The possibilities are endless! Give us some of your wild speculations in the comments.
