Game of the Year - Fire Emblem: Awakening | oprainfall Awards

Fire Emblem: Awakening

The staff and the fans are in lock-step on this one. Fire Emblem: Awakening isn’t just a great addition to the Fire Emblem franchise but the best game this year. It took everything that makes a great Fire Emblem game and expanded upon them. The story is wonderful, the music is great, the gameplay is as strong as ever, and the characters from top to bottom are amazing. Definitely Game of the Year material.

And with that, we close the 2013 oprainfall Video Game Awards. I would like to thank Brodie Dayton-Mills for creating the amazing feature images you’ve seen on the front page the past few days. I would also like to thank Guy Rainey, Angela Hinck, Josh Speer, Will Whitehurst, Tyler Lubben, Hailee Kenney, Jonathan Higgins, Steve Baltimore, Raymond Dwyer, Karli Winata, Dalton McClain, and Phil Schipper for helping out with these posts. Not sure if you were counting, but all three of these posts have around 15,000 words combined in them. This definitely could not have been done without their help. Finally, I want to thank all of you out there for supporting this website. Without you guys, none of this would happen.

So, let’s all raise a glass to the year that was 2013. And here’s to an even more fruitful 2014.
