J-Stars Victory VS - oprainfall

In the Latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, it was revealed that Joseph and Jonathan Joestar from Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure) will be playable characters in the upcoming fighting game J-stars Victory VS. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Jojo series, the Joestar family is one of the main families involved in this massive series. Most of the main characters in each part is a relative or a decedent of a Joestar with Jonathan being the star of the first part of the series, Phantom Blood. Joseph is Jonathan’s grandson and the main character in the second part of the series, Battle Tendency.

It is interesting to see both Joseph and Gintoki from Gintama as playable characters since they both share the same VA in their respective anime. No word on whether or not Jotaro Kujo is playable. He is the main character of the third part of the series and usually the character that most seem to associate with Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. He has been playable in the previous crossover game Jump Ultimate Stars for the Nintendo DS.

Also joining the Joestars is Meisuke Nueno from Jigoku Sensei Nube (Hell Teacher Nube). He is a teacher and exorcist who uses powers from his Oni no Te (Demon hand) to solve problems and protect his students. You can see a scan from the magazine announcing these three characters below. If you look really closely, you can see what appears to be box art for the PlayStation 3 version:

The game is scheduled to be released on March 19 for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. If you pre-order the game, you will receive a booklet with information on all the Jump heroes featured in this game. As of right now, there is no confirmation of that bonus applying to pre-orders from import websites, so those of you planning on buying it that way may be out of luck.
