Two major pieces of news were announced regarding Space Dandy, the new anime series from the creator of Cowboy Bebop, Shinichiro Watanabe. First of all, the dub for the series will be done by FUNimation. The dubbed version will air January 2014 on Cartoon Network in the United States as part of its Adult Swim programming block. [Currently, there is no word on whether it will also air on Cartoon Network Canada, which determines its own lineup and schedule.—Ed.] This marks the first time that the dub of an anime series will be broadcast at the same time as its original Japanese counterpart on Adult Swim, or probably any channel, for that matter.
And as it turns out, the U.S. isn’t the only country getting Space Dandy at the same time as Japan. Madman Entertainment has announced they will be streaming the series simultaneously in Australia and New Zealand through Madman’s Screening Room service. The exact date is unknown at this time.
Finally, FUNimation has released a new trailer for Space Dandy. You can check it out below.
