Fang in Lightning Returns

The old Final Fantasy XIII crew appears to be coming back together as Fang from the original title looks to be returning from her long crystal nap. Fang’s new appearance was revealed in this week’s issue of Shounen Jump, which also shared some more details on her character.

Fang’s description in the new Jump issue clarifies Fang’s fate in the original Final Fantasy XIII game, in which she turned into a crystal with Vanille after supporting Lightning in her quest.  She also apparently awoke many years prior to the start of Lightning Returns, and became the leader of a band of thieves after a short stay at the Luxerion Salvation Temple.

Some more quotes in the magazine reveal that Fang may become a supporting character in battle, as Lighting sets off to search for holy artifacts. Fang’s new thieving posse also look to be operating in the Dead Dunes where they have set up a stronghold. One last piece of information seems to indicate that Fang wishes to meet up with Vanille, but circumstances will not allow her to do so.

Hopefully, more information and returning characters will be revealed, as Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is set to launch for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 21 in Japan, February 11 in North America, and February 14 in Europe.
