Well, comparing last week’s numbers in the Media Create charts to this week’s, all I really have to say is…I’m glad the 3DS is doing well. Sales are down almost across the board, with only the 3DS and the 360 rising this past week. The Wii dips below 1,000 units sold. The PSP falls as it closes in on 20,000,000 in Japan. The Vita falls as it tries to find that killer app that will really set the charts on fire. The Wii U continues to fall as it struggles for relevancy on the charts. The PS3 is doing okay but will soon have to make room for its successor.
As for games, this week’s top game is the visual novel Uta no Prince-sama: Music 2, an otome game that will probably not come to gamers outside Japan. Last week’s top two games, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, dropped quickly. However, that could be because of physical stock being sold out before new shipments could arrive.
Other than that, the list seems pretty balanced in terms of consoles showing up. Neither Sony nor Nintendo has much of an advantage over the other.
