There has been quite a buzz in the anime industry as the popular series Rurouni Kenshin has been selected to get another live-action adaptation. Continuing the exploits of the main character named Kenshin, this new live-action movie will tell the tale of the popular Kyoto Arc. The arc will be split into two movies which will be screened next Summer in Japan. We also got more news on the movie’s development, as the actor who will play the role of the villain Shishio Makoto, has also been revealed.

Japanese actor Tatsuya Fujiwara, who is also known for the role of Light Yagami in the Death Note live-action adaptation, will be the one who will take up the role of one of Kenshin’s greatest villains. Takeru Satoh will also come back to reprise the role of Kenshin, with Keishi Otomo similarly returning to direct the two separated movies titled The Kyoto Fire and The Legend’s Conclusion.
