Some new screenshots for the Wii U version of Yakuza 1 & 2 HD have surfaced via Gematsu, including the game’s new box art. There are no new screenshots that depict any new special Wii U exclusive features with the gamepad, but it was previously confirmed that you can use the gamepad for maps and for off-TV functionality.
The Yakuza franchise was previously a Sony exclusive, with the first two games being available only on the PlayStation 2 and the third, fourth and fifth entries being available on the PlayStation 3. This will mark the first time that this franchise will be available on a non-PlayStation platform.
Yakuza 1 & 2 HD will be released in Japan on August 8th. There are still no plans for an international release at this time. And, of course, Yakuza 5 is still stuck in Japan.
