Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Girl

Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Girl | oprainfall

Courtesy of Atlus, a new installment of character trailers for Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Girl demonstrates the voice acting and class abilities of Arthur Charles, the game’s Alchemist. Arthur is voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Mahiro Fuwa in Blast of Tempest, Mikado Ryugamine in Durarara!!).

You can watch the video below:

As shown in the trailer, Arthur comes off as brash and arrogant, with a strong sense of assertion. He always speaks what’s on his mind, and appears to think highly of himself after defeating enemies. He also has a lot of respect for Simon Yorke, the Medic and leader of the party’s expedition group. In the battle segment, Arthur receives advice from Simon, and obeys without question.

In battle, the Alchemist has control over Fire, Ice, and Lightning elements — all of which deal heavy damage against the enemy, depending on their strengths and weaknesses. Even without the use of elemental magic, Arthur has a good grasp of attack power; but, as a consequence, it appears that he spends more TP from using elemental attacks.

At the end of the video, it is speculative from Arthur discussing TP in his dialogue box that it may be depleted more quickly, followed with some banter by Frederica, the game’s eponymous “Millennium Girl.”

This is the first game in the Etrian Odyssey series that uses original characters and professional voice-acting; although players can create their own characters via Classic Mode to continue the vital feature that the Etrian Odyssey series is known for. Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Girl will be available in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS on June 27.

Stay tuned for more information.
