The Sony news just keeps coming at us today. First off we had the PSN Weekly and now we have news that the store will also be receiving an indie games category. PlayStation Blog reported earlier that “PlayStation and Sony Network Entertainment are proud to stand behind indie-led development with the introduction of a new PlayStation Store ‘Indie Games’ category coming later today.”

The new category will build on the support that PlayStation has already offered to independent developers as well as help to highlight some of the great games these developers have given us. Games said to be available in this category will be Unfinished Swan, PSN exclusive Journey, Thomas Was Alone and Guacamelee! Each game offers a unique experience to players, Thomas Was Alone and Guacamelee! have already had great releases on the system during the Spring Fever Event.

In addition to this new category there will be a few sales going on as a celebration. From May 7 to May 21 Retro City Rampage will be available at a 50% discounted price. During this same time Papo & Yo promotional bundle will be 40% off. In addition to these games,  Zombie Tycoon II will be available for free to PS Plus members.
