Namco Bandai has been announcing a slew of updates lately regarding Tales of Xillia‘s Western release, including official release dates for North America, Europe and Australia and all-new footage and screenshots. To cap it all off, they’ve also announced two special editions for the game. The Day One Edition is exclusive to Europe and Australia, while the Collector’s Edition (a.k.a. the Milla Maxwell Collector’s Edition) will be available in all three regions.
Today, Namco Bandai has also announced that GameStop has started taking online pre-orders for Tales of Xillia Collector’s Edition for $99.99 USD. Though some have claimed that you can also pre-order in-store, call your local GameStop to make sure before going out of your way to do so. However, Namco Bandai didn’t say how many copies would be made for North America. We also have no clue if this will be a GameStop exclusive or not, as Namco Bandai only mentions “participating retailers” on Facebook. We’ll have to wait for more information to be sure.
Meanwhile, Namco Bandai Games Europe has revealed how many copies of the Collector’s Edition will be made for Europe (10,000) and the cost to pre-order directly from them (£79.99/€99.99). In Australia, EB Games is taking pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition ($148.00 AUD) and the Day One Edition ($89.95 AUD, mislabeled “Limited Edition”). Unfortunately for Canadian fans, there is currently no listing for the Collector’s Edition at EB Games Canada, Future Shop, Best Buy Canada, or Amazon.ca.
The Collector’s Edition will come with the game, limited edition packaging, a limited edition Milla Maxwell figure, an artbook and a “special music selection CD.” Tales of Xillia will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on August 6th in North America and August 9th in Europe and Australia.
