While we have previously covered Toukiden, which I still say looks like the love child of Monster Hunter and Onimusha, new screenshots have been released which show off two new weapons; the Dual Blades and Spear. The Dual Blades allow a volley of rapid attacks and unlock a whirlwind attack, while the Spear allows crushing attacks and can be charged to unleash a powerful rapid burst. Toukiden is set to hit on June 27th of this year for the PSP and PlayStation Vita in Japan. Though no US release date has been officially announced, I would bet there’s a good chance of it getting localized since it looks to capitalize on the giant monster hunting craze brought about by the Monster Hunter series. Until then, enjoy the following beautiful screenshots.

Josh is a passionate gamer, finding time to clock in around 30-40 hours of gaming a week. He discovered Operation Rainfall while avidly following the localization of the Big 3 Wii RPGs. He enjoys SHMUPS, Platformers, RPGs, Roguelikes and the occasional Fighter. He’s also an unashamedly giant Mega Man fan, having played the series since he was eight. As Head Editor and Review Manager, he spends far too much time editing reviews and random articles. In his limited spare time he devours indies whole and anticipates the release of quirky, unpredictable and innovative games.
