Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture are working in collaboration with their new owner, GungHo, to bring us a brand new action game sometime in 2014. We don’t know the game’s title yet, nor do we know which platforms it will be available on. What we do know is that it’s a new IP, and it’s possible the game will show up on next-gen consoles. As Suda51 states, they “are interested in developing games for the next-gen platforms” and are “investigating the specs and all that right now”.
Suda51 went on to make some interesting (and bold) statements about the game’s online component. He states that, “On the simplest level it will be social, but the word social is used and misinterpreted a lot these days.” Suda was unable to give any examples of how the online might work because it is very unique, and there is “no example from the past” to describe it.
