Well, this is odd. Billboards for Mother 2, known to the rest of us as Earthbound, have popped up in Tokyo, advertising the game’s imminent release on the Wii U Virtual Console in its home country.
Huh. It seems odd to me that Nintendo would be advertising a Virtual Console game on the streets of Tokyo. Sure, this is a game I’ve been anxiously anticipating for years, but it IS still just a digital release of an Super Famicom game. Then again, the online market in Japan is just a fraction of the online market here in the West, so maybe advertising that a popular game is only 30 yen (about 30 cents in US money) for a limited time is the only way to sell any copies. What do you think?
