Mega Man

Throughout this year, Capcom is celebrating Mega Man’s 25th Anniversary, though series fans (including myself) haven’t had too much to get excited about. To help tide us over until perhaps some bigger news comes our way regarding the Blue Bomber’s birthday, Capcom Community Manager Brett Elston announced yesterday via his blog on Capcom Unity that a special Mega Buster-shaped USB drive will be available next week on the Capcom Store. While it does look great on the outside, it’s what’s on the inside that counts, as it comes stuffed with some digital goodies for Mega Man fans everywhere. What you can expect to find:

The assortment of items that come pre-loaded on the Mega Buster USB drive.
The assortment of items that come pre-loaded on the Mega Buster USB drive.
  • Digital Copies of Issues #1-4 of Mega Man from Archie Comics
  • Digital Copies of the Mega Man Tribute and Mega Man X Official Complete Works art books
  • Street Fighter X Mega Man soundtrack from A_Rival
  • Street Fighter X Mega Man Wallpapers
  • A “Quick link” to the Street Fighter X Mega Man game

All of this comes pre-loaded on the 8GB USB Drive for $19.95.  Considering physical copies of the Mega Man X Official Complete Works art book are hard to come by and being price-gouged, a digital version serves as a decent alternative for the price. Elston will update sometime next week once the drive is available on the Capcom Store, so if you’re interested, keep your eyes peeled and your wallets at the ready. It may not be anywhere near the announcement of a new title, which is really what fans are waiting for, but at least it’s something.
