At 8:00 PM local time, Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct only for Japan. Its focus was on the 3DS and it went for precisely thirty-three minutes. A number of announcements were made, some of which were very relevant to Western audiences. Read on to find out what was discussed by Nintendo of Japan!
Tomodachi Collection is a new game for the 3DS. “Tomodachi” means “friend” in Japanese, and as you might have guessed, this game features a plethora of mini-games in which you use Miis collected via StreetPass. You can change the voice of your Miis and customize them further. It will be released on the 18th of April of this year, and will cost 4800 yen.
The Legend of Zelda: The Oracle of Ages and The Oracle of Seaons will be getting a virtual console release on February 27, and will cost 600 yen a piece. How exciting!
Shawn the Sheep, a game for the 3DS, will be coming and will be priced at 100 yen.
Professor Layton and the Civilisation will be released February 28th for 5500 yen. Visit towns in a variety of different climates and meet many new characters voiced by famous voice actors. It will contain over 500 brand new puzzles.
A new game, Ghost Word Watch, follows the story of a young boy named Keita who runs around meeting all sorts of different ghosts.
A smartphone app popular in Japan known as Nameko Multiples will be coming to the 3DS. Match and eliminate tiles in multiple game modes. It will support download play and cost 3990 yen on its February 28 release .
Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission has you create a team of five characters with cards. All arcade versions of the game will be included. The game will have voice acting, a story mode, multiplayer, StreetPass compatibility and some QR codes that can be scanned for bonus goodies. Out on February 28th, it will cost 5800 yen.
Super Robot Wars UX will contain new characters and will be fully voiced. It will get a special edition 3DS XL pack to be released on March 14 for 7140 yen.
Castlevania: Mirror of Fate got a cool new trailer, a release date of March 20th, and a price of 4980 yen.
Level 5 will be releasing Guild 02 as three separate titles in the future, one of which is Spaceship Damray.
Shin Megami Tensei IV got a wicked new gameplay trailer and some plot details, as well as a release date and its very own special edition 3DS.
Beta testing for Dragon Quest X will begin March 6th in preparation for its April 30 release.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be receiving a cool new feature, and Monster Hunter 4 a wicked new trailer; see for yourself!
