Before the Zone of the Enders HD Collection was released back in October, it was announced that a demo of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance would be bundled with the package, similar to the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo being included with the first Zone of the Enders back on PlayStation 2.
Konami’s intention was obviously to assure sales of the HD Collection by including an incentive for Metal Gear fans who could not wait to get their first taste of Rising. It was good of them to have a playable demo for the masses, as demos are becoming sadly scarce these days.
So many were asking, when will the demo be released on Xbox Live & the PlayStation Network? At first the answer seemed to be the Japanese release of the demo, but gamers soon found out that the demo was region-locked. Let’s just say, fans weren’t too pleased when finding this on their own after downloading it and being unable to play it.
That aside, Konami has announced that the demo will be released next week on the 22nd on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. While they didn’t specify, it will most likely be the same demo that was bundled with the Zone of the Enders HD Collection, which showcased the second level of the game plus the tutorial.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which is being developed by Platinum Games, is scheduled for release on February 9th in North America and February 22nd in Europe for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In the meantime, check out the new trailer for the game and footage showing off Raiden’s various costumes.
