The Wonderful 101 Logo - Games of 2013The Wonderful 101

One of two games that are a result of Nintendo’s alliance with their new best buds, Platinum Games, the fabulously titled The Wonderful 101 is a light-hearted action game, as opposed to the other title, Bayonetta 2, which I don’t especially care about (FYI, enchanted hair will be outlawed in Kotanistan). Anyway, The Wonderful 101 puts you in control of a hundred tiny warriors who are attempting to save the world from aliens.

Wait… Control…? One-hundred…? It’s like my own personal little army!

The Wonderful 101 Screen 004 - Games of 2013 Yes… The cutesy exterior, with its colourful, comic book inspired graphics shall belie a sinister purpose… My darkest dreams will come to fruition as I lead my horde of miniature minions against the alien menace! Then the whole world shall bow before me as a saviour! Those who refuse to acknowledge my power will be shot when I transform my little friends into a not-so-little gun! Oh yes.

Tales of Xillia - Games of 2013Tales of Xillia

Ah, Tales. Tales, Tales, Tales. You were missing in action for so long; your Western fans were getting worried. I was getting worried! You wouldn’t want me to be worried on your account, would you? I thought not. Fortunately, you’ve made quite the comeback in the West over the past year, so I won’t have to send my hit squads into Namco-Bandai’s North American offices.

Tales of Xillia English Screenshot 12 - Games of 2013Sometimes, I like to stay in the dark about my anticipated games, so I haven’t really been keeping up with all the minutiae of Tales of Xillia’s gameplay, but I’ve heard it’s been well received, and, well, it’s Tales. One of my favourite series! Can’t really go wrong there (But if it did go wrong, I couldn’t be held responsible for the consequences)!

The dual main characters seem like a neat idea, too. Sort of reminds me of my dual personalities! Wait. You didn’t hear that from me! You heard it from me.

But wait! There’s still one more to go! Find which game gets the Dear Leader’s Number One Seal of Approval on the next page!

Devin is a Canadian, and as such, plays hockey (no he doesn’t) and drinks maple syrup (not really) while riding a wild moose (he’s never seen a moose). When he’s not perpetuating cultural stereotypes, he’s playing videogames, which has been, on occasion, very bad for his mental health, problems with which have plagued him for years. Now, at 20, he’s getting his mental health issues under control, and he’s trying to decide what to do with his life. He’s currently debating between journalism and trying his hand at the dramatic arts.
