Mega Man X Street Fighter

Mega Man vs…Blanka Man?!

Two of Capcom’s biggest franchises, Mega Man and Street Fighter, are celebrating their twenty-fifth anniversaries this year.  And though Mega Man fans have certainly had reason to bemoan Capcom in recent years with the treatment of titles such as Mega Man Legends 3, the publisher has come out of nowhere to announce a brand new crossover title.

Mega Man X Street Fighter is an all-new Mega Man title bearing the retro 8-bit look and sound of the NES era Mega Man games.  The game feature new stages, challenges, and weapons, but with a special cross-over twist.  Rather than face off against traditional Robot Masters, Mega Man will face off against characters from the Street Fighter franchise including Ryu, Chun-Li, Rose, Blanka, and Dhalsim, and by defeating them will gain access to signature moves like the hadouken and lightning kick.

Mega Man X Street Fighter will be released as a free download for PC on December 17th exclusively through the Mega Man portal of capcom-unity.com.  Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.  Does the thought of Mega Man’s peanut butter and Street Fighter’s chocolate together get you excited?  More importantly, what will become of Mega Man’s thighs upon taking Chun-Li’s power and making it his own?

About Justin Graham

Justin joined Oprainfall through…belligerence. (Note to others: This is not a good way to get noticed. This sort of thing only works once.) When he’s not writing about games or waxing nostalgic about anime older than a large portion of the site’s audience, he can be found playing JRPGs or beating up lots of dudes in Dynasty Warriors.
