Yesterday night on twitter, video game designer Yasumi Matsuno formally announced his departure from the game company Level-5. Matsuno has had an incredible record of games, including Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics, created under previous employer Square Enix.
After joining with video game company Level-5, Yasumi Matsuno worked on a new game titled “Crimson Shroud”, developed for the 3DS, which would be released as a part of the video game compilation titled Guild01. This compilation includes three other games developed for the 3DS, including Liberation Maiden, Aero Porter, and Rental Bukiya de Omasse. Matsuno’s Crimson Shroud is slated for release in the U.S. before the end of this year.
However, Matsuno announced that he will be leaving Level-5, tweeting,
“I’d like to formally announce my departure from Level-5, effective last month. With my work done on the domestic and overseas version of my latest 3DSWare game, it was good timing for me to step down and take a short break in order to recharge for my next project. My deepest thanks to everyone at Level-5 and everyone playing our games for your continued support.” (Translation courtesy of Aokajiya)
Later, Matsuno assured his fans that he is in perfect health, and is simply taking a break before his next big project.
