Dynasty Warriors 8: Gameplay Details and Confirmed Characters

Details about characters within Dynasty Warriors 8 for the PlayStation3 have now surfaced, alongside some minor details about the gameplay as well. If you are a fan of Dynasty Warriors, or even remotely played one, then you should already know what to expect in the grand scheme of things. The game is still a beat-them-up game that incorporates strategy elements as well, so do not expect any drastic changes to the series with the implementation of this game; however, there are many more additions that make the gameplay more interesting and a little more diverse.

The few gameplay additions are as follows:

Storm Rush: This move is able to be used if the affinity of your weapon corresponds and is good with your enemy commander’s weapon. Once you break the commander’s stance, you are able to attack repeatedly, although your speed will decrease with each consecutive hit you land.

Variable Counter: This special action can be activated as long as your weapon’s affinity is not compatible with your opponent’s. In other words, if the affinity between your weapon and your opponents is bad, you may trigger this action. Once you use this action, your equipped weapon will be changed. The details are a little muddled, but perhaps it is a way to change your weapon to one that will be better utilized against the foe, and also a counter which will hit the opponent; a two for one deal!

Awakening Action: This one is also a little bit confusing, but it seems that once certain conditions are met, your abilities will increase, and your display of power will be injected with wonderful steroids, and become more awesome than it usually is. While the steroids bit is a lie, the truth of the matter is that this attack will be a powered up version of the previous one. While you are within this state, EXP items are easier to accumulate.
