Today, Square Enix announced a deadline extension for their Final Fantasy Super Fan Contest, where winners will be awarded a trip to the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concert in Paris, France, with VIP tickets! The entry submission deadline is now October 29th, and only the first 300 videos will be considered, so hurry up and get your entry in! To enter, all you have to do is create a short video about half a minute to a minute long, explaining why you are the biggest Final Fantasy “Super Fan”. The best videos selected by Square Enix will be posted to the internet, where we’ll be able to vote for our favorites and select the final winner.
For those unfamiliar with the concert, Distant Worlds is chock full of music from the Final Fantasy games. Many people cosplay to the concert, and for the Distant Worlds concert I went to, the energy level was over the roof! For the encore, since there was no chorus, the audience provided the vocals for “One Winged Angel”. Needless to say, it’s not your typical classical concert.
For the Paris Distant Worlds concert, Nobuo Uematsu, composer of many Final Fantasy songs, will be one of the featured soloists, playing the organ. The VIP tickets will also allow you to go to Nobuo Uematsu and conductor Arnie Roth’s autograph sessions, and provide photo opportunities with the two of them. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you could win through the contest, so be sure to try and enter!
