Publisher Genius Sonority has announced that they will be sharing QR codes for certain Denpa Men this week. For those who haven’t already downloaded The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave, it’s a quirky dungeon crawler RPG on the 3DS eShop developed by former staff of Pokemon Colosseum, Dragon Quest, and Final Fantasy.
Our reviewer thought pretty highly of the game when it released this September, and the sequel has done well in Japan as well, securing the #1 spot on the eShop download charts, which is good news for those hoping to see the sequel get the localization treatment.
The game makes use of certain wireless signals (presumably based on SSID) to deliver new Denpa Men in-game, and on very rare occasions, you can catch special colored Denpa Men with enhanced abilities. The game allows for the creation of QR Codes to share any Denpa Man you catch with friends, and this time the publishers will be releasing the QR Codes themselves. The Denpa Men released in North America on September 27, 2012. The game is scheduled to be released in Europe by the end of this year.
