The God And Fate Revolution Paradox

The God And Fate Revolution Paradox, the next RPG from the geniuses behind the Disgaea games.

Plenty of new details have emerged for The God And Fate Revolution Paradox (yes, the name is quite epic). This brand new PS3 RPG from Nippon Ichi (the creative minds behind the Disgaea games), is being developed as a celebration to the company’s 20th anniversary.

The God and Fate Revolution Paradox is a story about a boy named Renya who wants to make people’s dreams come true. The game takes place in the Copy World. There is a “Fate Revolution Circuit” that controls the fate of the real world, and it was copied to create the Copy World. The Copy World essentially consists of dungeons. In these dungeons, there are enemies that stand in one’s way and block the path to a person’s fate. Defeating these monsters in the Copy World allows you to destroy unreasonable fates and lead a person towards their desired fate.

Renya will face off against many foes in all sorts of environments, including 3D envrionments. Here is a screenshot of one of the many tricky dungeons you will face.

A neat 3D dungeon where you walk around on all sides.

You will be able to customize your character with many accessories. The game’s equipment will have a huge effect on your character. Not only stats-wise, but in appearance. Even attacks & abilities will change depending on what you are wearing.

A ghostly witch outfit could grant you spiritual powers.

The game isn’t without nods to Nippon Ichi‘s other games. Just like in Disgaea you will be able to lift and throw characters around on the battlefield to your heart’s content.

He doesn’t seem to want to be thrown. Oh well, too bad.

Also, while you do level up as you play through each dungeon, your dungeon stats/levels will not stay with you. Leave a dungeon and your level is reset to one! However, there is a separate stat that is your “total level” which continues to grow, so level grinders can rest easy that their progress isn’t completely lost.

Though your level is reset to 1, you do gain some permanent stat bonuses for your hard work.

The God and Fate Revolution Paradox is in development for the PlayStation 3 and is set to release in Japan December 2012.
