4. Beyond the Sky – Ending Theme (composed by Yasunori Mitsuda)
Sung by the talented Sarah Álainn, Beyond the Sky is the only piece of music to feature vocals. A melodic, serene piece that wouldn’t seem out of place attached to a Walt Disney movie. After everything you’ve been through, it’s very fitting to have such a piece of music relax you as the end credits roll. It would’ve been a crime not to include this in our Top 10.
3. Mechanical Rhythm (composed by ACE+)
When you reach a certain part of the game, the standard battle theme changes to this one, Mechanical Rhythm. It’s very reminiscent of the boss theme from Final Fantasy VII, from the rock style of music to the guitar licks and drum rhythms. Again it’s another adrenaline filled track, which gets the heart racing as you battle your way through the onslaught of Mechon. Highly acclaimed among the Operation Rainfall staff, it’s no wonder it became our third most favourite track.
2. Gaur Plain (composed by ACE+)
If there’s any track that represents Xenoblade Chronicles, it’d probably be this one. The music of Gaur Plain is very upbeat and cheerful. It definitely matches up with the bright, colorful graphics of the game and the overall cheerful and upbeat feeling of the game as you’re trekking through the landscape. Many hours will be spent on Gaur Plain from just listening to the music alone.
